Honor Code Camps!

Testimonials

A Few Comments from Participants:

Dear Rob,

Thank you so much for giving me such on amazing experience at the Honor Code Camp!  I learned so much about where I want to go, and exactly how I’m going to get there.  You and the Honor Code staff painted such a clear picture for me about what joining the Navy really means.  Finally, after talking to midshipman and just walking around the Naval Academy, I am more inspired than ever to achieve this goal, and that would not have been possible without you, so thank you very much!

Sincerely,

Molly Hanson

Rob,

I just wanted to say thank you for giving me the opportunity to attend your camp and see the Naval Academy up close.  I felt that this whole week was a huge deciding factor for me, as I hoped it would be.  You and all the other people helping you run this camp did a great job of helping all of us identify our strengths and weaknesses, and then showing us just what it takes to make it all the way to excellence at the Naval Academy.  Years from now, when I'm actually at the Naval Academy, I will only grow to appreciate this experience even more.  Thank you :)

Sincerely,

Elisha Clark

Dear Rob,

I’ll never forget how happy I felt after you called to tell us the news about camp, or my first day at camp.   But out of everything, I loved feeling like I belong here, with this group.  This camp is wonderful and I’ll always remember the memories, the friends, and my goal for attending one of the academies.  I came here with an open mind but still kept my eyes on the Naval Academy; I’ve got to tell you I really like the Air Force Academy.  Its so exciting to have those options and support.  Well, my next move = good grades, create a workout schedule and getting ready for more camp.

Thank you for everything you do,

IS

Dear Rob,

This is Logan Dausel, I went to the Air Force Academy Honor Code Camp and would like to personally thank you.   Over the course of those few days, you have changed my outlook on life and have helped me decide what I want to do and become in my life.  Without your guidance, I would have been lost in this world and your instruction led me to the right path.  Like you said, life is just a big boat that everyone is on and it has many stops.  I intend upon my stop being the Air Force Academy.  I will take the steps you have taught me to ensure my appointment to this academy and would like to once again thank you for your tireless dedication to helping young people like myself.

All the best,

Logan Dausel

Hi Rob,

I just wanted to thank you again for an amazing experience at the Honor Code! United States Naval Academy Prep Camp '11.  I really had a great time!  Honestly, I can say this trip has opened my eyes and made me realize what I want to do for my future and for my country.  I wanted to personally thank you for being such a great impact on all of us that have attended the camp.  I learned so much every day over the lectures and campus tours, and realizing what it takes to become a midshipman and the competitive obstacles that we must overcome in order to attain that goal.  I am so blessed to have an awesome camp director!  Hope to see you soon!

Sincerely,

Keilani Trias

A Few Comments From Parents,

On behalf of our son, Aidan, we wanted to thank you for the experience he had this summer at the Honor Code! camp at West Point.  Aidan thoroughly enjoyed himself, meeting people and making friends with peers from all over the country.  He told us that he absolutely loved the camp.  It was a great opportunity to expand his horizons as a young teenager, particularly in a program and within a setting that promotes leadership, commitment and character.  The Academy also made a profound impression on him and he continues to express a strong interest in pursuing an appointment after high school.

We have tried to emphasize with our children the importance of building a strong academic and extracurricular record during their high school years.  Aidan's experience at Honor Code! certainly has underscored that message.  Regardless of whether he ultimately seeks an appointment at the Academy or pursues a career in the military, Aidan's experience at Honor Code! was not only a memorable one for him, but a valuable complement to our efforts to instill in him the values that will help him develop into a fine young man.

We are truly grateful to you and your staff for all you did to make Aidan's time at Honor Code! special.  We wish you continued success.

Hi Rob

Well, we are back from all of our miscellaneous vacations, and I finally have a moment to sit at the computer.  One of my first priorities is to quickly get a note of thanks off to you and your family...  Kyle had SUCH A GREAT TIME at West Point!!!!

Our return car ride home was full of academy historical fun facts, future data and class strategy plans, stories about New York, stories about paint balling, stories about the CFA...  Kyle couldn’t stop talking!!!!  My father also got a most welcome earful as we stopped one night to visit on the way home.  I have to say; I have never seen grandson and grandfather so tightly bonded, nor my son have so much to talk about with his grandfather.  The Honor Code Camp made an indelible impression!!!

Thank you so much for giving Kyle the opportunity to preview and experience West Point through your well oiled camp program.  I can only hope that his recent enthusiasm can carry over into the fall and spring when he has to really start the push.

Thanks again,

The Delgado Family

PS  The “Right Stuff” plaque arrived.  Perfect!

Dear Rob,

This letter is to express our deep appreciation and gratitude for the outstanding 2010 Camp experience provided to both our daughter Michelle (17, Air Force Academy Camp) and Danielle (15, West Point Camp).

Both our daughters have a deep rooted desire to attend military academies for their college education. I came across the Honor Code! Camp programs while looking for a summer camp that would give them insight into life at the military academies. From the very first phone conversation with you and subsequent email exchanges, I was convinced that the camp program that you have is indeed unique.

Michelle and Danielle both had a great time at their respective camps and came back with an even higher level of motivation to attend military academies.  The feedback we received from our daughters was that they were able to interact with peers from across the US and the world, which had similar goals and aspirations as themselves. They also got to witness firsthand what it means to live and study at a military academy including talking to enrolled cadets.  I think that the most valuable aspect of Honor Code! Camp is that it is run and managed by you, a parent who has children attending military academies. You were not just the Camp Director but also Dad–in-Chief to the camp participants.

I would strongly recommend Honor Code! Camp to any parent who has children with intentions to attend a military academy. Please feel free to provide my phone and email information should a parent need a reference or additional information.

Thank you once again.

With warmest regards,

Leslie & Esther Machado, Cerritos, CA (Southern California)
